Elvis Costello returned to the stage that spawned his new collaborative album with the Roots, 'Wise Up Ghost,' last night for a performance on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.'

The British singer/songwriter previously appeared on the late-night show in early 2012 during a week-long tribute to the music of Bruce Springsteen. It was then that he covered 'Brilliant Disguise' and 'Fire' with a little help from the Roots, but it was more than just another onstage collaboration for the Philadelphia band.

The Roots drummer/producer, Questlove, and Costello became quick friends and decided they should hit the studio together. The result of their efforts, 'Wise Up Ghost,' was released this past Tuesday (Sept. 17) on Blue Note Records to critical acclaim.

It's easy to understand why folks are loving this project based on this performance of single 'Walk Us Uptown'—all the players involved sound great, from the Roots' musicianship to Costello's trademark vocals.
