E-40 vs. DOOM – Underground Kings, Round 1

Who’s better? Charlie Hustle or the Super MF’n Villain?

We’d be remiss if we didn’t include E-40 Fonzarelli in a feature about indie rap hustlers. E-40 isn’t just a prolific game spitter, as founder of Sick Wid It Records he’s also the model of a successful hip-hop entrepreneur. Two decades in the game and he’s still making dope music. Need proof? Listen to his recently released ‘The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil’ albums.

Originally a member of the group KMD alongside his brother Sub Roc (R.I.P.) and signed to Elektra Records, MF DOOM rose from the ashes of his past identity of Zev Love X. Since his first Fondle Em Records release he has continued to drop dope material as a soloist or in tandem with producers like Madlib and Danger Mouse.

Who should advance to the next round? Cast your vote for the Greatest Indie Rapper Ever in the poll below.

Voting for this round closes on Thursday Oct. 31 at 3:59PM ET. Fans can vote once per hour, so keep coming back to make sure that your favorite indie rap act wins!

Next: Macklemore vs. Atmosphere
