Drake Finally Drops Long-Awaited Track ‘Trophies’

Let the trumpets blow! After an instrumental of ‘Trophies’ appeared in a short trailer for ‘Nothing Was the Same,’ fans have been waiting with bated breath for Drake to drop the full song. Well, Drizzy blessed the Internet today (Dec. 29) with the track and it’s destined to be your favorite end-of-the-year anthem.

Produced by Hit-Boy, the trumpet-blaring song boasts a thunderous beat and a mean bassline. Drake, as usual, yells his braggadocios rhymes gloriously on the track.

“Man this s— is not a love song / This a f— a stripper on a mink rug song / This a f— them boys forever, hold a grudge song / Pop some champagne in the tub song / N—-, just because song,” he spits.

This is the second tune of what could be a four or five-song release from the OVO leader before the year is out. On Saturday (Dec. 28), Drake released the anthemic ‘We Made It‘ (Freestyle) featuring Soulja Boy.

It looks as if Drake is two for two with his certified street bangers. Expect both songs to get spinned ad nauseam at your upcoming New Year’s Eve party on Dec. 31.
