Drake, Snoop Dogg, YG, Nipsey Hussle Rap on ‘Motto’ Remix

Drake‘s ‘Take Care’ bonus track ‘Motto,’ a hyphy-inspired song featuring his Young Money boss Lil Wayne, has been given the remix treatment. West Coast rappers Snoop Dogg, YG and Nipsey Hussle lend their vocals to the track to give the song some legitimacy.

Canadian-born Drizzy gets “stupid,” struggling through Yay area slang — a play off the name for the Bay, where the hyphy movement was born — singing “airy day” with Julie Andrews-like clarity. Luckily, the track gets some California love with Snoop on the bill.

The song opens with a synth beat signature of the Bay area sound, giving a lyrical nod to Mac Dre and his hit ‘Feelin’ Myself.’ YG and Nipsey slur while spitting E-40-like quick-tongued rhymes but Snoop manages to slow it down with his signature stoner-style.

Lil Wayne and Drake headed West to film the visuals for the track off ‘Take Care’ — San Francisco, Calif. will be the setting for the video. Hopefully we’ll see the Young Money crew and company do the “thizzle dance” in the city by the bay.

‘Take Care’ earned Drake a No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts, with 659,190 units sold.
