Drake started from the bottom and now he’s hosting and performing on 'Saturday Night Live.' The rap superstar rocked the 'SNL' stage with energetic sets of songs from his latest album, 'Nothing Was the Same.'

For his first song, Drizzy rapped 'Started From the Bottom' and flipped it with his trumpet-blaring anthem 'Trophies.'

Under a red spotlight, Drake performed the track with plenty of bravado and jazz hand motions. Near the end, the horns from 'Trophies' came on and Drake performs the song’s chorus.

For his second tune, the OVO leader sang his chart-topping hit 'Hold On, We’re Going Home' and then followed it with the melodic ballad 'From Time' with singer Jhene Aiko who joined him on stage.

This time, under a blue spotlight, the duo exhibited some serious chemistry as they sang the intimate lyrics as if they were having a conversation with each other. "Tell Lorne to cut to commercial break, so that we can make love," Drake crooned to an eager Aiko.

At the end of the performance, the pair embraced and Drake introduce Aiko to the enthusiastic 'SNL' audience. We think Aiko's star quotient will rise after this appearance.

We must also mentioned that Drake’s zippered shirt was also getting plenty of slander on Twitter.

Overall, Drake did a phenomenal job as both host and musical performer on 'SNL.'
