Drake Remixes ILOVEMAKONNEN’s ‘Club Going Up On a Tuesday’

Drake has developed a reputation for jumping on next-to-blow hits -- not to mention dropping songs at stupid o'clock in the morning. The rapper killed two birds with one stone early Tuesday (Aug. 12) by remixing 'Club Going Up On a Tuesday,' the bubbling anthem from rising Atlanta star ILOVEMAKONNEN.

Like many of his previous remixes, including Migos' 'Versace' and SBTRKT's 'Wildfire,' October's Very Own leads off with a lengthy opening verse on this Sonny Digital-produced banger. Once again proving his chameleon-like qualities, Drizzy morphs his delivery to match MAKONNEN's quaint voice, even hitting those absurdly (and we mean absurdly) high notes.

Perhaps Aubrey's most memorable line is, "Put the world on the sound / You know PARTY and The Weeknd," which is, of course, a reference to his both current understudy and ex-protege, whose respective crews were rumored to be involved in a brief bust-up at the OVO pop-up shop prior to the second and final show of OVO Fest 2014 last week.

ILOVEMAKONNEN will probably take some getting used to if this is your first time hearing his music, but thanks to this unexpected makeover from Drizzy Drake, he'll certainly get the club going up this fine Tuesday.
