Young Money rapper Drake earned himself a cool quarter million dollars this past weekend for a high-profile bar mitzvah performance.

Former NBC executive Jeff Zucker tapped the Toronto native to perform at his son's bar mitzvah in New York City on Saturday night (May 7), paying him $250,000 for his time and passing on the $1 million asking price for a Kanye West appearance. Sources told the New York Post that Zucker briefly considered offering West $800,000 to perform for his son, before having a change of heart.

The fancy bash, held at the Four Seasons restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, was attended by the likes of Katie Couric and 50 of Andrew Zucker's closest pals. Drake's performance was complimented by an A-class menu, raw bar, fine wines, specialty cocktails, desserts, an iPad station, photo booth and customized Converse sneakers gifted to each attendee.

Drake, who released his debut album 'Thank Me Later' in June 2010, is at work on his sophomore effort, currently titled 'Take Care.' On May 6, Drizzy sent out a tweet hinting that his upcoming, first single may be titled 'The Ride,' following 'The Calm' from his mixtape 'So Far Gone' and 'The Resistance' from 'Thank Me Later.'

So far, there have been few details available about 'Take Care,' but Drake has made it clear that side projects -- including acting roles and his R&B mixtape 'It's Never Enough' -- have been put on hold while he completes the new rap album.
