Timing is everything, and right now, Drake’s timing is impeccable. After dropping his surprise album/mixtape, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, it was the Toronto rhymer’s turn to rock the crowd at Sprite’s “Obey Your Thirst” concert in New York on Friday (Feb. 13).

According to Rap-Up, Drizzy was co-headliner of the event alongside Nas, the actual headliner, and a DJ set by A Tribe Called Quest album Q-Tip.

The Young Money superstar perform a few tracks from his just-released effort. Drake performed “Legend” and “Energy” from his mixtape, but he thrown in a few extra goodies. The 28-year-old rapper recited his verse from Nicki Minaj’s song “Truffle Butter.”

However, the highlight was when decided to cover Rihanna’s chart-topping single, “FourFiveSeconds” accapella style. He did the same for Kanye West’s lullaby tune “Only One.” In both instances, the crowd helped Drizzy sing the lyrics with him.

But he wasn’t done yet. Drake had a few tricks up his sleeve. During his set he brought out some special guest. Kanye West joined Drake for a rowdy performance of “I Don’t Like” and Travi$ Scott for a rendition of “Mamacita.” Finally, he had the show going up on a Friday with his duet of “Tuesday” with OVO Sound artist ILOVEMAKONNEN.

Overall, if you are reading this, then you would know that Drake is the man right now.

We would love to know what Rihanna thinks of Drizzy’s reinterpretation of “FourFiveSeconds.” As you may know, the couple have a storied history together. It looks like love is not lost between the two.
