Dr. Dre (Andre Young) was placed in handcuffs outside of his Malibu home and issued a citation after a man claimed the producer/mogul brandished a handgun during a confrontation.

In what is shaping up to look a little like Skip Gates 2.0 The Hip Hop Version, police officers were called to a "situation" at Dre’s home in Malibu before midday on Monday. Turns out the "situation" was a man stopping in front of Dre's home. Dre ordered the man to leave and the man says the legendary producer pulled out a gun.

The Los Angeles Times reports the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department said Dre was "searched, handcuffed, and briefly detained in a patrol car" while they investigated the incident. Dre was cooperative and denied the allegations and ultimately, no gun was found on the scene. Dre's lawyer refused to comment on the incident.

“Due to the nature of the call, the person was searched, handcuffed, and briefly detained in a patrol car while deputies investigated the incident,” Sheriff’s Capt. Chris Reed said.

For Dre's part, the mogul, who at last count had a net-worth of $710 million, told police that he asked the man to leave after he parked outside his property, blocking access and entry points. Dre said the man left, only to return shortly after, and that's when Dre took out his cellphone to begin recording the incident. The man drove away, and apparently called the cops.

Not to sure what is possessing people to allegedly run up on rappers' houses these days but it's definitely not cool. We're glad Dre is okay and this incident ended relatively peacefully, despite Dre being handcuffed outside of his own home.
