There have been a few changes in the rotation at Def Jam these past few months, with former President Joie Manda leaving for Interscope, Sha Money XL joining Epic Records and Shawn "Pecas" Costner being promoted to Executive Vice President. Now the historic label has appointed Don Cannon as Vice President of A&R.

The Philadelphia-born DJ and producer will operate out of Atlanta, and report directly to Karen Kwak, Head of A&R at Island Def Jam, while working closely with Steve Bartels, President & COO of Island Def Jam Music Group. Says Cannon of his new post:

A music person can only dream about being at Def Jam, the most important Hip Hop destination in the world. I feel I have a cutting edge vision for where the culture and Hip Hop are heading and I'm excited to be joining the team. I'm already working 24/7 to drive the innovation of music forward and I'm confident we'll land some big successes in the very near future.
