DMX Arrested on Driving Charges in South Carolina

Monday marked the 15th anniversary of ‘Belly,’ and perhaps in being too true to his character in the movie, DMX once again got in trouble with the law.

DMX, born Earl Simmons, was arrested and spent three hours in jail Monday night (Nov. 4) after getting hit with three charges while on his way to a South Carolina airport, CNN reports. The offenses in question were driving with a suspended license and having an uninsured, unlicensed vehicle.

This is the third time this year that X has been arrested in his home state. He was arrested for marijuana possession in August and a DUI in July.

Domenick Nati, one of DMX’s representatives, maintained that the rapper’s latest run-in with the law won’t affect his future plans too much. “This short arrest will not affect any of his upcoming concerts and he is planning on performing with Swizz Beatz on Wednesday’s ‘Wendy Williams Show,’” he says.
