DJ Soundwave, Lani Love and DJ Rhetorik Win Big as McDonald’s Flavor Battle Finalists

DJ Soundwave, Lani Love and DJ Rhetorik are giving you some new flavor in your ear. The three finalists have been selected to compete in the fifth annual McDonald’s Flavor Battle for the chance to be crowned the 2015 Flavor Battle DJ Champion.

The national Flavor Battle competition selects DJs from the East, Central and West regions to showcase their mixing skills, technique, performance and crowd appeal to fans online. The competition started with 12 DJs, then it was whittled down to six DJs and now we have three finalists vying for the Flavor Battle crown.

Repping the West is Los Angeles native DJ Soundwave, who's been rocking crowds for eight years. Chicago DJ Lani Love is holding down the Central region and is known for her eclectic collection of melodic mixes. Finally, DJ Rhetorik, who tours with Def Jam rapper Logic, is repping the East Coast.

These three finalists will compete at the Flavor Battle finale in New York on Nov. 15. Only one will win the ultimate prize of $10,000 and be crowned the Flavor Battle DJ Champion. The battle also includes a sweepstakes where one grand prize winner will get the chance to win an all-exclusive VIP experience for two to the Flavor Battle Finale during the 2015 Global Spin Awards weekend in New York.

The legendary DJ Clark Kent will serve as the host of the Grand Finale event while DJ Skribble, DJ Shiftee, DJ Jazzy Joyce and the 2014 Flavor Battle champion, DJ R-Tistic, will serve as the judges. In addition, Power 105 The Breakfast Club host Angela Yee will be on hand as the event’s social media correspondent for the Flavor Battle Competition.

This is the final event in which the three DJs must display their skills on the 1s and 2s.
