DJ J-Love Faces Up to 10 Years in Prison for 30+ Charges
J-Love, a DJ, producer and rapper mostly known for being at the helm and hosting numerous Nas mixtapes, is facing a very steep road ahead. The mixtape maker is currently facing anywhere from five to ten years in prison on multiple charges that include attempted murder and many counts of possessing weapons with intent for use.
The Queens native hasn’t spoken to the press about the charges and what exact incidents they stem from, but there are many citations in the full list. Most of the charges do not include arrests, but there are a few felonies in the bunch. These include the aforementioned intention for attempted murder, endangerment, defacing a weapon and having a loaded firearm on his person without proper permits.
It’s currently unknown when J-Love will go to trial or if any of the long list of charges will be consolidated into a more manageable series of offenses. Either way, it appears that his career as a DJ and producer of New York street rap is going on hiatus for the foreseeable future.
Throughout the years, J-Love has worked with some of New York’s biggest names. Besides Nas, those include: Ghostface Killah, Kool G Rap, Cormega and substantial portion of Large Professor’s Matador Records album ‘1st Class.’
