DJ Drama is one of hip-hop's premier DJs and is known for hosting Lil Wayne's famed 'Dedication' series, Meek Mill's 'Dreamchasers 2, 'Freddie Gibbs' 'Baby Face Killa' and countless other rappers' mixtapes. Now he's adding a new title to his resume: Atlantic Records A&R.

Atlantic chairman/CEO Craig Kallman announced that Drama joined Atlantic's A&R team in a statement. "One of the most accomplished DJs and mixtape masters, DJ Drama brings brilliant instincts and consummate skills to our A&R team. A hugely influential force in the hip-hop community, I know he'll be a tremendous asset in signing and developing artists and making amazing records," Kallman stated.

DJ Drama's duties at the new position include overseeing recording projects, contributing to signed artists' development and signing new talent. His first two albums -- 'Gangsta Grillz: The Album' Volumes 1 and 2 -- were released through Atlantic.

The DJ, born Tyree Simmons, will be working on 'Quality Street Music 2' while he adjusts to his new position.
