Diplomats Affiliate J.R. Writer Shot, Tweets ‘I’m Alive’

According to reports, Diplomats affiliated rapper J.R. Writer was shot in the Bronx, NY, last night. While details about the shooting are still coming in, it has been reported that Writer was shot in the leg.

Word of the incident spread via his brother Fred Money’s Twitter page late last night. Prayers and support for the talented MC immediately began streaming in, as industry personalities such as DJ Clue tweeted “Please keep JR Writer in your Prayers, he was shot last night in the Bronx.”

Writer finally responded today via Twitter (what else), saying “Thank the Lord I’m alive, they tried to kill ya boy.”

Writer had performed with fellow Dips Jim Jones andJuelz Santana last week at 50 Cent‘s Thisis50 Festival on Governor’s Island, NY.

When contacted for a statement, Juelz responded with surprise, “That’s crazy, I didn’t hear about it. Damn, I don’t know. It’s dirty out there in the streets.”

Writer recently released an album entitled ‘Cinecrack 1.5′ via iTunes. He’s previously released records through Asylum, Koch and Babygrande.
