Watch Dice Raw’s Black Incarceration Documentary ‘Jimmie’s Back’

The Roots member Dice Raw releases a brand new mini-documentary today and the focus of it is Black incarceration.

Teaming up with OkayPlayer and RapGenius in the joint premiere of the documentary, 'Jimmie's Back' was inspired by Michelle Alexander‘s book, 'The New Jim Crow,' and features interviews with previously incarcerated Philadelphia natives. They share some of their experiences and explain what they’ve done to evade the system’s deliberate concentration on black and brown men.

The mini-doc accompanies Dice Raw's upcoming album, 'Jimmie’s Back,' which is structured around the injustices of the Prison Industrial Complex.
