As fans patiently wait for Dej Loaf to release her debut album on Columbia Records, the Detroit native dropped her new mixtape, All Jokes Aside, to hold fans over.

The 11-track collection is the follow-up to her 2015 EP, ...And See That’s the Thing, and features production by Izze the Producer, Sonny Digital, KLVN, DDS and iRocksays. The only guest feature on the project is former No Limit Records rapper Silkk the Shocker on "Bout That."

Among the highlights on the mixtape include the piano-driven "Goals" where Dej raps about staying on her grind and not being distracted by nonsense.

"F--- your opinion, I know I'm great / I got to drop this album, s---, I know they can't wait," she spits, adding, "I be in here off the top, but they say I ain’t lyrical / Don’t give a f--- ‘cause s--- where I’m from it’s a miracle / Yeah I started off with 'Try Me' but I’m older and spiritual."

“There comes a time in a girl’s life, where she becomes a young woman,” said Dej Loaf about the mature content on the mixtape (via Rap-Up). “It’s called growth, it’s called maturity, it’s called living life to the full potential and being true to who you are. That’s what I represent."

"I feel good about everything that I am doing right now, because it is what I want to do," she continues. "Not what anyone else wants me to do; it’s what I want to do. I’m in charge. I run my show. It feels damn good.”
