Rapper/activist David Banner has released a statement on the Freddie Gray case. Earlier today, it was announced that all charges are being dropped against all of the remaining officers charged in connection with the death of the 25 year-old Baltimore man.

"In the case of Freddie Gray, America has clearly shown that it has completely turned its back on Black people," Banner said. "Apparently, the laws are not the same for the Police. We lose our lives; they get paid vacation. What are Black people to do about it is a better question!"

Six Baltimore police officers were facing charges in connection with Gray’s death, who died during a “rough ride" in a police van. Gray’s death sparked protests in Baltimore and throughout the country. A Baltimore judge had previously acquitted three of the six officers charged and Officer William Porter’s trial ended in a hung jury last December.

Since the news broke about the charges being dropped, people have understandably expressed outrage.

“U kill us. Use our mothers as f–king stage props for Dems & the next day announce all charges dropped in Freddie Gray’s murder. SMH, Evil,” Killer Mike wrote on Twitter following the announcement.

YG shared the sentiment, simply writing, “The police get away wit murder.”

Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby gave a passionate statement following the announcement.

"We do not believe that Freddie Gray killed himself. We stand by the medical examiner's determination that Freddie Gray's death was a homicide," she said. "However, after much thought and prayer, it has become clear to me that without being able to work with an independent investigatory agency from the very start, without having a say in the election of whether our cases proceed in front of a judge or jury, without communal oversight of policing in this community, without real substantive reforms to the current criminal justice system, we could try this case a hundred times, and cases just like it, and we would still end up with the same result."
