As Dave Hollister gears up for the release of his eighth studio album, The MANuscript, slated to hit stores and digital libraries Aug. 26, he enlists LisaRaye to promote the project's first single, "Definition of a Woman."

Soulful and reminiscent of a classic '90s R&B ballad, Hollister's new track is a prime example of his signature adagio sound. For true D.H. fans, think of this record as his 2000 hit, "One Woman Man" (from his second album Chicago '85...The Movie) reloaded: it serves as an ode to the woman he loves, cherishes every step she takes and strings together a continuous series of notes with a legato cadence that stays consistent throughout the song's entirety. But unlike Hollister's 2000 persona, the Chicago native illustrates the definition and importance of a woman without characterizing everything she's not or shouldn't be.

Excited about his latest single, and sensuous on-camera partnership, Hollister praises LisaRaye and her demeanor both on and off set.

"LisaRaye is a hometown girl, man, always been a beautiful spirit and she's so graceful and pleasant to work with," says Hollister. "LisaRaye brought a warmth and a light to this video that only she could, and it was easy working with my homie versus a stranger, so...easy day for me!"

The former Blackstreet member's latest project is said to be "a state-of-the-nation exploration of the nature of men, women and relationships on the contemporary landscape."
