Watch Danny Brown’s ‘The Old Documentary’ From 2009

It’s been a long road for Danny Brown who, let’s not forget, only made the XXL Freshman cover at 30-years-old. His upcoming ‘Old’ album may be one of the most eagerly awaited rap releases of the year (if he doesn’t leak it, that is), but Danny takes time to reflect on his journey by releasing ‘The Old Documentary.’

The nearly-hour-long film, which was shot back in 2009 by Nic Notion, provides a look at the Detroit rapper’s humble beginnings, when his wild hair was braided tightly and early morning bus rides were part of the grind. We get to hear Danny talk about (or should I say prophecize) about his ‘Hot Soup’ mixtape and waiting for his career to pop off.

There’s also footage from Danny’s show with the Gorilla Funk Mob spliced throughout the clip, which you can enjoy below.
