Former Jay-Z associate Damon Dash has announced that he will be launching a new weekly hip-hop event in New York City called Bridging the Gap.

The event will take place at downtown's Santos Party House in collaboration with Hot 97 radio personality Peter Rosenberg and producer SkiBeatz. The Aug. 16 kick off will feature performances by 90's rap group Camp Lo and up-and-comer Stalley.

"The party will reach deep into the city's pool of talent, featuring top notch guest headliners every time," a rep for Bridging the Gap said. Naturally, the event is not just for the enjoyment of the hip-hop community, it is also an attempt to promote the artists on Dash's BluRoc/BlakRoc record labels and his digital broadcasting company Creative Control, which includes hip-hop acts like Curren$y, Smoke DZA, Peter Hadar, Trademark, SkiBeatz and more.

Bridging the Gap launches on August 16, and continues each following Monday at 9PM at Santos Party House. Admission is $15. Click here for more info on the event.
