Cypress Hill Reunite For Tenth Album

The founding members of Cypress Hill — B-Real, Sen Dog and DJ Muggs — are reuniting for their tenth album, which is still a work in progress. This will be the first time the trio will collaborate on the same album since 2004′s ‘Till Death Do Us Part.’

Cypress Hill’s last effort, ‘Rise Up’ in 2010, marked the first time DJ Muggs didn’t handle the production.

For their newest project, B-Real is happy to report that Muggs is back and is creating the music on the album.

“Muggs is at the helm of production so we’re off to a start with that,” he told Shade 45 radio (via HipHopDX). “It’s going to be ill, man. He’s got fire and a lot of people have been waiting for us to reunite like that, so we’re all looking forward to it.”

Although the members as a whole have been on hiatus for six years, B-Real and Sen Dog continue to perform and keep active with outside projects.

“In our six-year hiatus, we weren’t making records and s— like that, but we were still doing shows,” he said. “I think that’s what kept us alive out there. You know, you’re out of sight, you’re out of mind. Especially nowadays, because…when we started, there were a few hundred artists and now there’s thousands to f—ing deal with every day.”

B-Real couldn’t pinpoint a release date for the “reunion” album. For right now, the group wants to record as as many songs as possible for the project.

“I think everyone has a different process now that we used to 20 years ago,” he said. “[We're] a little bit more experienced and we know how to just make it happen. It’s about making the songs right, obviously.”

In the meantime, you can check out B-Real spitting cutthroat rhymes with his group Serial Killers with Xzibit and Demrick.

The group’s first mixtape, ‘Serial Killers, Vol. 1,’ creeps into stores Oct. 31.
