Curren$y has a busy year ahead of him. The New Orleans native, Shante Scott Franklin, has revealed that he has a staggering five projects scheduled for release in 2011, with plans to put out three retail albums and a few mixtapes before the year is up.

"For me? I'd say about five projects," Franklin confirmed with TheWellVersed.com, explaining that he doesn't think he's oversaturating the market. "I used to put out mixtapes every month. So now three retail projects and a couple of mixtapes, that's cool. Those free projects will hold everybody down so they can get used to my next series."

First up, the 30-year-old MC will release a full-length dubbed 'Covert Coup,' on April 20, with producer the Alchemist manning the boards for the entirety of the project. Following the green-friendly record, Curren$y will release his sixth studio album 'Muscle Car Chronicles' through DD172 on May 3, which he describes as an entirely different affair.

"It's all the way different. I recorded that before I even worked on 'Pilot Talk I & II,'" he said. "I'm giving the 'Pilot Talk' series a break and now that I have this Warner deal that I'm about to put four projects out through. 'Muscle Car Chronicles' was a project that Dame [Dash] had in the safe. Wasn't no point in holding it. We were just trying to find the right date to put it out."

His most recent release, 'Pilot Talk II,' flew into stores in November 2010, touting production from Ski Beatz, Monsta Beatz and Nesby Phips as well as guest appearances from Dom Kennedy, McKenzie Eddy and Raekwon.
