Crooked I Denies Benzino’s Alleged Slaughterhouse Truce

Slaughterhouse MC Crooked I has addressed Benzino‘s recent announcement that their dispute has been “straightened out,” denying the former The Source owner’s statements.

The largely one-sided beef began when Benzino referred to Crooked I’s group, which also includes Joe Budden, Royce da 5’9 and Joell Ortiz, as “overrated,” back in 2009. Both sides then engaged in a little video dissing, which escalated to ‘Zino flashing a pistol and recording a diss song no one heard, called ‘Break to Build.’

In a recent interview, Benzino claimed to have parlayed a truce with Slaughterhouse, saying, “Beefing might not be the way to go in 2012,” and that he had reached out to a mutual friend from Detroit to work things out. “I guess we straightened out [our beef]. It’s all good. We actually just put them in the last [Hip-Hop Weekly] magazine, talking about they signed to Shady Records — Slaughterhouse is like D12 on steroids.”

Crooked I has now responded to say that, while he was unaware of such a truce, he welcomed the possibility of an end to their dispute.

“It’s news to me,” the Long Beach, Calif., MC explained. “I never even heard about it. If he did, he did, you know what I mean? I’m this type of person, man, I’m glad he [dropped his grievances] if he really did. I’ll search and see it. I’m glad he went online and said some positive things, because he also went online and said some negative things [about the group] … I’m just the kind of dude who likes to get on the phone with people or sit down with them face-to-face and figure out if s— is good or if it’s on some media bulls—.”

Slaughterhouse is currently hard at work on their Shady Records debut, having recently signed with longtime Benzino rival Eminem.
