Coolio Arrested For Possession of Crack
Grammy-winning rapper Coolio was arrested earlier today at Los Angeles airport for suspected possession of crack cocaine. According to reports, the 45-year-old rapper was busted after going through airport security. A screening revealed the drug on his person and he was then taken into custody.
Although no other details have been released, TMZ reports that Coolio, born Artis Levon Ivey Jr., was attempting to board a Southwest Airlines flight when he was apprehended. He is also believed to have gotten "physical" with the security screener.
Coolio reached the height of his fame in 1995 upon the release of the single 'Gangsta's Paradise.' The song, which was featured in the film 'Dangerous Minds,' pushed the album of the same name to platinum-plus status.
The rapper recently found himself back in the spotlight via his reality show 'Coolio's Rules' on the Oxygen network. Last year, he hosted an online cooking show called 'Cooking with Coolio.'
