After keeping streetwear heads speculating all summer, Converse have finally unveiled their collaboration with high-end fashion house Maison Martin Margiela. The well-publicized sneaker collection brings together the classic elements of each brand; in other words, a bunch of Converse shoes have been doused in white paint.

Okay, there's a little more to it than that. Incorporating both Chuck Taylor's hi-top and Jack Purcell's lo-top models, the paint on the Converse x Maison Martin Margiela shoes actually chip and fade over time, revealing the true red and blue colorway underneath, and giving each pair a unique identity.

The collection will be available at select Converse First String retailers and Margiela stores later this month, retailing for $200.
