Rapper/actor Common is set to host Los Angeles Times Magazine's 'Rock/Style: A Night of Music and Fashion' event in Hollywood next month.

The exclusive ticketed event will be held June 1 at celebrity hot spot Drai's Hollywood, inside the new W Hotel, and will coincide with the magazine's music issue, which features the Chicago native. In the issue, out June 6, Common breaks down the ten lessons learned while transitioning from music into acting.

The night's festivities will include a fashion show put on by the event's co-sponsor, Macy's, a dance performance and live music from eclectic rapper Benny Cassette. "Music and fashion are two of the most transcendent aspects of American culture," said Times' Vice President of Advertising and Events, Anna Magzanyan. "Southern California – from Hollywood to the beaches – has inspired and nurtured both art forms, as they have inspired and informed each other, and we are thrilled to throw our first 'Rock/Style' event."

Attendees will also receive a gift bag valued at over $200. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit Events.latimes.com/rockstyle.
