Common to Headline Free Stones Throw Superfest in L.A.

Stones Throw Records will celebrate twenty years of being the supreme supplier of progressive and experimental sounds in Los Angeles, CA with a free, all-ages festival on November 5.

The concert line up features some heavy hitters including label founder Peanut Butter Wolf, Dam-Funk, J Rocc, Mndsgn, Homeboy Sandman, Mild High Club, Koreatown Oddity, Chrome Canyon, Sudan Archives and new signee, Gabriel Garzon-Montano. And Common will perform as the event's headliner, likely alongside Stones Throw's own Karriem Riggins. In the same week of the concert, Common is reportedly releasing his highly anticipated 11th studio album, Black America Again, produced by Riggins. The album title is the same as one of his most recent videos.

The Chicago lyricist and hip hop producer/musician have performed together in the past. Most recently Common and Riggins performed "Used To Love H.E.R", "Letter To The Free", "The Day The Women Took Over", and "Little Chicago Boy" at The White House for NPR's Tiny Desk concert series.

The November celebration is part of Red Bull Sound Select‘s 30 Days In LA, which is a monthlong event series that includes concerts with some of today’s biggest and rising stars, with several day and night parties as well.

The Stones Throw Superfest is no charge, but you may want to get your tickets quickly. It's one of only eight shows of the 30 that are not sold out yet.
