We have a sneaking suspicion that Erykah Badu may have partially influenced the title of Common's new memoir, 'One Day It'll All Make Sense.' In a candid Q&A with gossip queen Wendy Williams on her talk show this morning (Sept. 13), Common revealed his ex-girlfriend Badu gave him his very first heartbreak -- and over the phone, no less!

Common, 39, dated his first real love, Badu, 40, for two years from 2000-2002, and the talk show guest gave 'The Wendy Williams Show' audience a glimpse into how it all ended.

"She handed it to me. I was in my hotel room on tour and ... she called me and was like, 'Hey, I don't wanna be in this relationship no more. I'm liking somebody else,'" the rapper-actor revealed of his 'Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip-Hop)' collaborator. "That was my first love and my first heartbreak," he added.

Badu, who dated and had her first child with Outkast's Andre 3000 before Common, went on to have a second child with rapper the D.O.C. in 2004, and a third child in 2009, with rapper Jay Electronica.

But Common refuses to hold the harsh breakup against his former flame, insisting they are now good friends. He told Wendy, "It taught me a lot of things, and when it happened I kinda really got into myself and really learned about myself and I was able to move on, and now me and E is real cool."

Common was feeling quite generous sharing the intimate details of his personal life, promoting his memoir and all, and also revealed he is close with another one of his famous exes: tennis superstar Serena Williams. "We're just friends now," Common admitted after he and Serena called it quits earlier this year.
