Common is branching off to the small screen with a new television project for Fox TV. The Chicago native is developing a sitcom with Hamilton director Thomas Kail and Ian Edelman (Puerto Rican in Paris) called 93 Til Infinity.

According to Shadow and Act, the show is about an aging (black) rapper who is going through a midlife crisis as he tries to figure out his next move in life. He finds support in his (white) best friend from middle school who is also going through a midlife crisis.

Edelman, Kail and Common are writing the script and producing the show with Danielle Sanchez-Witzel (The Carmichael Show) tapped as the showrunner.

Right now, Fox has made a script commitment to the project so there’s a possibility that it might get picked up for television.

No worries for Common because he's been making big moves on the big screen as well. The 44-year-old rapper was last seen in the comic book adaptation of Suicide Squad and Ice Cube's comedy flick, Barbershop: The Next Cut.

Common can be seen next in the action-packed sequel John Wick: Chapter 2 starring Keanu Reeves. Judging by the trailer (watch below), it looks like Common will play a bad guy who goes up against John Wick with plenty of guns and fists.

We want to wish Common the best of luck on his television venture.
