Clipse Working on New Album With the Neptunes
The idea of what could come out of Pusha T‘s 20-day studio session with the Neptunes is enough to cause massive excitement. That anticipation has multiplied by a lot now that No Malice is back in the mix. Clipse have reunited.
According to Karen Civil, the two are at work on their follow-up to 2009’s ‘Til The Casket Drops.’ The studio effort was the first not to be produced entirely by the Neptunes and had a lukewarm reception, especially when compared to the duo’s classic ‘Hell Hath No Fury.’ Apparently the new LP, currently untitled, will be an independent release.
The dynamic between the two brothers will be interesting to watch unfold if the opus is indeed on its way. Clipse made their name off cleverly told drug raps, but while Pusha T has remained in that lane, No Malice has said that he’s done with rapping about the topic.
It’s a rift Pusha T has touched on a few times in his songs, including last year’s ’40 Acres.’ “And they say I’m on the verge of winning / I claim victory when Malice on the verge of sinning.”
In addition to a new Clipse project, Pusha T is working on his own sophomore release titled ‘King Push.’
