Chris Brown Turns Himself In to Police for Domestic Violence Incident
According to reports, Chris Brown has turned himself into the LAPD. The 19-year-old singer is under investigation for alleged domestic violence felony battery stemming from an incident that occurred around early Sunday morning.
"He turned himself in around 7 p.m. to one of our stations and is being interviewed by detectives now," Officer Karen Smith said.
The singer was driven to the police station by his attorney Mark Geragos. Brown was booked, posted $50,000 bail and left the station by 9PM PST. According to the arrest report, Brown is due back in court on March 5.
The crooner and an unidentified woman -- which is assumed to be Brown's girlfriend Rihanna -- allegedly became involved in a heated argument in their vehicle that eventually spilled out of the car into the street. Rihanna has not been officially identified as the woman who called 911, but Brown was named as the assailant. According to police officials, Brown fled the scene before LAPD arrived.Conflicting reports have been circulating, some placing Rihanna at the scene of the incident, with others claiming the unidentified woman was not the singer's 20-year-old girlfriend. Neither Brown or Rihanna have released a statement to clear up the matter.
The pair were spotted together at the Clive Davis pre-Grammy party Saturday evening, but both artists skipped the actual awards ceremony. Rihanna and Brown were scheduled to take the stage, but Al Green and Justin Timberlake performed in the couple's absence.
