Chris Brown is set to make an appearance at the 2012 Grammy Awards, his first time back at the prestigious event since the 2009 domestic violence ordeal with ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

"Chris absolutely plans on attending the Grammys and is in talks with producers of the show to possibly perform," the source stated. "Chris performed at the MTV Video Music Awards several months ago, and his performance was simply over the top as he was flying through the air like an acrobat. Chris' performance stole the show, and he would love to do something at the Grammy's to top his VMA performance."

The 'F.A.M.E.' creator is up for Best R&B Album, for the aforementioned LP as well as Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for 'Look at Me Now' featuring Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes.

Rihanna will likely make an appearance at the 2012 Grammy Awards, for she is nominated in the Best Album of the Year category for 'Loud.'

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards air live from the Staples Center at 8PM EST on Feb. 12, 2012.
