It looks like Chris Brown's MC dreams are starting to come true. The maligned R&B singer is featured on the cover of the June/July 2011 issue of The Source magazine.

Billed as its "Summer Heat" issue, Chris Brown has been awarded "R&B artist of the summer" by the hip-hop magazine. Noted writer and author Aliya S. King -- she's penned books 'Platinum' and 'Keep the Faith' -- also a former editor at The Source, wrote the cover story on Breezy. In the feature, Brown discusses his past controversies and his return to the charts. His latest album, 'F.A.M.E.,' was released in March, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart.

When The Source asked CB what's the hardest part about being Chris Brown, the 'Look at Me Now' singer responded, "The hardest thing about Chris Brown is understanding that you're 'Chris Brown.' I just noticed the value of my brand, and who I am as a person now."

Chris Brown, who was just named a performer for this year's BET Awards, isn't the first R&B act to grace the cover of what was once consider "the Hip-Hop Bible" -- Ashanti and Mary J. Blige being a couple of examples.

The June/July issue of The Source will be available on newsstands June 20.
