The death of Chinx has certainly left the hip-hop community with a heavy heart. Following the announcement of the late rapper’s funeral, the grieving family launched a GoFundMe campaign to ask friends, family and fans for financial help. Unfortunately, the page has sparked criticism from fans questioning why his fellow rap peers are not helping out.

The campaign’s goal was set at $20,000 originally, but now the amount has increased to $100,000. This has caused social media users to be very critical of the family’s charity page.

"I am thoroughly confused as to why Chinx family made him a Gofundme, the 'coke boys' better come through with some coin," tweeted one fan. "Glad I'm not the only one thinking that Gofundme for Chinx is looking crazy," wrote another fan.

Amid the backlash, French Montana has come forward to address the criticism about the funeral costs. The rapper shared his thoughts on his Instagram page:

I hate having to address the negativity during this time of grief. It is irrelevant. I pray that everyone would consider that real people lost a real man, friend, brother, father before spreading hateful speech. His funeral is taken care of. My brother is in good hand. If you don't have nothing positive to say keep it to your self #ripchinx"
