Chief Keef: Pitchfork Rifle Video Turned Over to Court as Rapper Faces Jail

Chief Keef has been at the center of several controversial situations lately, including a video interview with Pitchfork that showed him holding a rifle at a gun range. The problem is that the young Chicago-based rapper (aka Keith Cozart) is still on probation for pointing a firearm at a Chicago police officer last year, and even his presence at a gun range is a violation of his parole.

Pitchfork took the video down, but now a judge ordered the website to turn it over to the court to determine whether the “I Don’t Like” rapper did indeed violate his parole. Though Pitchfork argued that turning over the full, unedited video is a breach of their first amendment rights, the judge has ruled that there is substantial burden to obtain the information any other way.

The 17-year-old rapper has been allowed to live in California while his case is pending. Chicago law enforcement officials are also looking into whether or not Cozart was involved with the killing of rapper Lil Jojo. Keef aroused suspicion in the shooting after he posted a tweet laughing at the death of his rap rival.

Chief Keef could be taken into custody if the judge rules that he violated parole. His debut album Finally Rich is set to drop on Dec. 18 on Interscope.
