Chamillionaire to Share Social Media Savvy at Grammy Summit
Chamillionaire will be a featured panelist at a new media conference during the upcoming Grammy week.
The panel, entitled "The Social Media Rock Star Summit - Music and Mobile: Beyond the Ringtone," features several of new media's biggest heavyweights, including Foursquare Co-Founder Naveen Selvadurai, Pandora Chief Strategy Officer Tim Westergren and Facebook Director of Platform Product Marketing, Ethan Beard, alongside 'American Idol' star Adam Lambert and Cham, who is a noted technology and social media advocate.
The panelists will be discussing the future of social networking as it pertains to music, the future of digital downloads and the the way in which smartphones, tablets (like the iPad) have changed the way music fans relate to music.
The summit takes place this Friday, Feb. 11 from 2-3:30PM at L.A. Live in Los Angeles, and since it is a conference on new media and the online world, those unable to attend in person will be given the opportunity to attend online by visiting Grammy.com or YouTube.
Hip-hop is receiving a record amount of attention at this year's Grammys. As previously reported, the Grammy Museum's first hip-hop exhibit, Hip-Hop: A Cultural Odyssey, will also be opening this week, featuring articles of clothing, turntables and various memorabilia from hip-hop legends like Grandmaster Flash, Run-D.M.C., Tupac Shakur, LL Cool J and more.
The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards will air live on Feb. 13 from 8-11:30 PM EST/5-8:30 PST. In other Chamillionaire news, the Houston rapper has yet to release his follow-up to 2007's 'Ultimate Victory.' Originally called 'Venom,' the album was shelved after he parted ways with Universal earlier this year. Forced to start from scratch, Cham plans on releasing free tracks sporadically, the most recent being 'After the Super Bowl.'
