Bruno Mars is officially a platinum-selling recording artist, as his debut LP, 'Doo-Wops & Hooligans,' has sold a million units.

Powered by hits singles 'Grenade' and 'Just the Way You Are,' the 25-year-old's album has been certified platinum in several different countries besides the U.S., including Canada, Germany and Australia.

"PLATINUM!!!! MOM I DID IT!!" an excited Mars tweeted Friday (April 23), in response to the news.

Leading up to his solo success, the singer appeared on hit singles with the likes of B.o.B. ('Nothing' on You') and Travie McCoy ('Billionaire') and co-wrote Cee Lo Green's 'F--- You.' Mars' other accolades include Best Pop Male Vocal Performance Grammy at this year's ceremony for 'Just the Way You Are,' and a recent nod in TIME magazine as one of the most influential people of the year.

Although he's a virtual newbie to musical success, Mars' career has not been without incident -- last year he was busted in Las Vegas on cocaine possession charges. He pleaded guilty to the charges, waiving his right to an involuntary trial. Mars was slapped with a $2,000 fine, required to complete drug counseling and perform 200 hours of community service.

Up next, Mars will head out on tour next month alongside Janelle Monae for the Hooligans in Wondaland tour kicking off at New York City's Roseland Ballroom on May 4.
