Bruno Mars Named Billboard ‘Artist of the Year’
In the cover story, the magazine praises the singer-songwriter for how he "grabbed hold of the album and single charts and never let go." His second album, 'Unorthodox Jukebox,' hit No. 1 on the charts and has sold almost 2 million copies to date. The effort boasted three Top 10 singles, including the love anthem 'Locked Out of Heaven,' which spent six weeks at the No. 1. spot.
He also launched the successful Moonshine Jungle world tour which grossed over $46 million and finished at No. 23 on Billboard's Top 25 Tours list.
Always humble, Bruno laughs, "What makes you artist of the year? Can we throw 'best jump shot' in there?"
The 'When I Was Your Man' singer isn't letting the accolades go to his head. The magazine shares that his tour continues with international dates in 2014 including Asia, New Zealand and Mexico City and then a North American leg in the summer.
