Eminem's '8 Mile' co-star Brittany Murphy was pronounced dead on Sunday morning, after doctors say that the 32-year-old actress suffered from a heart attack. The Los Angeles fire department responded to an emergency call at 8AM PST and rushed Murphy to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 10:04AM PST Murphy shared a house in the Hollywood Hills with her husband, British screenwriter, Simon Monjack who placed the early morning 9-1-1 call.

Cedars-Sinai Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said that Murphy collapsed in her bathroom and explained that doctors were still trying to determine the exact cause of death. Although he admitted that an official report could not be issued without a toxicology report, he said that she appeared to have died of natural causes.
Murphy got her big start in the 1995 comedy 'Clueless' before moving on to play Slim Shady's love interest in '8 Mile.' In 2003 Murphy acknowledged that her role in '8 Mile' had opened up doors in her career. "That changed a lot," she said. "That was the difference between people knowing my first and last name as opposed to not." Most recently Murphy has lent her voice to animated characters on FOX's 'King of the Hill,' and the 2006 animated film 'Happy Feet.'

The Los Angeles police department has launched a full investigation into Murphy's death and Coroner Ed Winter says that an autopsy will performed on Monday or Tuesday. Murphy's ex-beau, Ashton Kutcher sent out his love and condolences via Twitter on Sunday morning. "2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine," Kutcher wrote. "My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany's family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon."
