Brandy Faces Second Lawsuit for Deadly Crash
The multi-car pileup involving R&B singer Brandy continues to haunt her. Donald Lite, a man hurt during the accident is suing both Brandy and the deceased driver Awatef Aboudihaj for personal injury and negligence.
In a document filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Dec. 8, Donald Lite alleges he sustained "serious and permanent injuries" because Brandy and Awatef Aboudihaj were traveling at an excessive speed resulting in failure to maintain a safe distance from each other.
On December 30, 2006, Brandy was driving her 2007 Land Rover when she collided with a vehicle driven by the 38-year-old Aboudihaj, a wife and mother of two. Brandy's vehicle smashed into a 1989 Toyota Tercel driven by the 82-year-old Lite, while a fourth car broadsided Aboudihaj, who died the following day as the result of major blunt force trauma.
Los Angeles prosecutors did not bring a criminal case against Brandy due to lack of evidence. But Lite has decided to press the matter in civil court seeking unspecified damages for pain and suffering as well as the cost of medical care and loss of wages, among other claims. There's been no word on when the case will go to trial.
