Bobby Brown ‘Deeply Saddened’ by Whitney Houston’s Death — Video

Singer Bobby Brown has felt the impact of Whitney Houston‘s death most, considering he was married to the brilliant vocalist for almost 15 years. The New Edition frontman kept himself out of the eyes of the press immediately following his ex-wife’s passing but is now speaking out on the tragic event.

“I am deeply saddened at the passing of my ex-wife, Whitney Houston,” the Massachusetts native told People magazine. “At this time we ask for privacy, especially for my daughter, Bobbi Kristina.”

When Brown heard the news that Houston’s body was found in a bathtub in a room at the Beverly Hilton hotel in L.A., he was scheduled to perform at a concert in Mississippi. The 43-year-old attempted to finish his set — he did 10 songs over the course of an hour — but appeared visibly shaken onstage before calling it quits.

His daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. Sunday morning (Feb. 12) to be treated for stress and anxiety as a result of her mother’s death. She has since been released.
