Makeda Jahnesta Marley, the youngest child of reggae legend and marijuana enthusiast Bob Marley, has been given seven years probation for growing marijuana in her Philadelphia area home.

The 29-year-old was arrested in 2008 when police arrived at her house after receiving a domestic dispute complaint, only to find Marley attempting to remove marijuana plants from her basement.

Marley pleaded guilty to possession this past September, and was offered either a short term in prison term or almost a decade on probation. She chose the latter, but will still have to serve a 72-hour stint in prison, that began on Oct. 27, for a recent DUI.

Marley will have to be extremely careful over the next seven years, as she is subject to random drug testing, and any violation of the terms of her probation will send her to prison.
