The Black Eyed Peas got an unpleasant surprise at France's NRJ Awards this past Sunday (Jan. 24), when they were accidentally named the Best International Group. Pop singer, Ke$ha and French choreographer, Kamel Ouali initially presented the award, naming the Black Eyed Peas as the winners, but after a few awkward moments the presenters realized that they had announced the incorrect band. As Ouali apologized to the booing crowd, he named German band Tokio Hotel as the winners and tried to explain that he had been confused since the card listed both the nominees and the winner.

Ouali asked the crowd to direct their anger at the NRJ organizers, saying that they were at fault for printing the list of nominees on the presentation card. The Black Eyed Peas still took home an award. The band's 2009 track 'I Gotta Feeling' took home the award for Best International Song. This isn't the first snafu at the NRJ Awards. During the 2009 ceremony, Katy Perry was accidentally awarded 'Best International Song,' an honor which was intended for Rihanna.

This year, Rihanna scooped up the award for Best International Female after a live performance of her single 'Russian Roulette.'
