Classic menswear company Dockers has called on Biz Markie to update their brand's image.

The 47-year-old Juice Crew founding member and 'Just a Friend' rapper recently provided the music by DJing a private celebration to showcase the Dockers' Fall 2011 collection, held at Tribeca's Hudson & Broad showroom in New York City.

In an attempt to explain the booking, Biz, clad in gray sweats and a white T-shirt, told the Wall Street Journal, "Well, somebody contacted me and, you know, I like Dockers. I wear Dockers. They're comfortable. I'm a comfortable man ... Dockers is a mature jean. You can wear it anywhere. Plus, I just love Dockers."

Though Biz is better known for his dookie gold rope chains rather than flat-front dad pants, the eccentric rap legend was apparently tapped as part of the company's effort to "update its image with more modern fits and styles."

"Biz Markie is a classic," said a rep for Dockers. "He's a good representation of an Alpha male who embraces passion, a certain attitude and individualism. He fits well with the new Dockers Alpha khaki that's launching for Fall 2011 -- classic, versatile and the first of its kind."

Over the last decade, Biz made the transition from rapper to entertainer, becoming a party DJ mainstay and appearing in films like 'Men in Black,' television shows like 'Celebrity Fit Club,' 'The Andy Milonakis Show,' and contributing a daily segment on the Nick Jr. show 'Yo Gabba Gabba!'
