Big K.R.I.T.'s grueling performance schedule has put a damper on his upcoming mixtape release. The Mississippi rapper, who planned on dropping his new offering 'Returnof4eva' on Tuesday (March 22), has delayed the giveaway after being distracted from its recording while performing at last week's South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.

The Def Jam signee announced the delay via his Twitter account, revealing that the new release date will be March 28. "Preparing fo sxsw and droppin #returnof4eva proved to be more difficult then I thought. I chose 2 push it back 2 tha 28th...bear with me," he wrote.

K.R.I.T., who was selected to be on XXL's 2011 Freshmen issue, has already released a few tracks off the free album, including 'American Rapstar' and 'Time Machine.' The tape follows last year's heralded 'K.R.I.T. Wuz Here,' which led to his signing with Def Jam a month after it was released in June 2010. Since then, he co-headlined the Smoker's Club Tour with Curren$y and Smoke DZA and opened on Wiz Khalifa's Waken Baken tour on select dates.
