For #TBT, UK DJ/radio personality Tim Westwood dug in the archives to release a Big Boi freestyle circa 1994. And everyone rejoiced because it's vintage Big Boi, which is always dope.

Big Boi lets loose over Jay Z's "Encore" and Obie Trice's "The Set Up" in an actual freestyle. He's funny (he mentions that he was sipping on Henny and Coke) as he spits about not eating pork "I eat shrimp on kabob, folk" after shouting out Sleepy Brown, who was in the studio with him. He also comically raps about meeting a girl and beating her in bowling.

The freestyle came on the heels of Big and partner-in-rhyme, Andre 3000's 2004 Grammy of the Year Award for Speakkerboxxx/The Love Below. Although Dre's half of the album propelled it with the crossover success of "Hey Ya," Big Boi further established himsel as one of the most lyrical guys in the game on his half of the record, with his straight-forward perspective and often humorous introspection.

Obviously, Daddy Fat Sax has had much success in the 10-plus years that have passed since he dropped this freestyle, establishing himself as one of the most underrated emcees in the game. Just earlier this year, he announced a year-long, monthly residency at the Wynn Las Vegas. He's also been busy on the festival circuit, making appearances at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival among others over the spring and summer.
