Remember when those photos of Beyonce and Jay-Z checking out indie band Grizzly Bear on Brooklyn's waterfront surfaced in 2009? Then B expressed that she was looking to create a "new genre of music" on her follow-up to 'I Am ... Sasha Fierce.' It looks as though the R&B diva has enlisted Mad Decent's Diplo for some new sounds.

Diplo dropped the ball on the collaboration with a recent blog post that also namechecked Derek E. Miller and Alexis Krauss of noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells. The post, which included a stream of a Diplo remix to Sleigh Bell's 'Tell 'Em,' went a little like this: "me and derek and alexis are bros and sis for life. in fact i like sleigh bells so much ... me and switch was in studio in nyc tryin to make tracks with derek and beyonce last week after we played her team their album ... dunno if we gonna manage to finish but was good times."

Miller confirmed the news but played down their teamwork. "yeah damn beyonce on it was intense track may not get finished (?) but we finished the rum off at least #idroppedsomethingg," he tweeted.

Although the track might not get finished, it's apparent that Beyonce is exploring new ideas for her fourth album. It also makes you wonder what Diplo was doing in the studio with this guy. Beyonce's fourth effort is also said to feature production from Sean Garrett and Christopher "Tricky" Stewart.
