Beyonce runs the world -- and elevators too. Last year, the diva launched headlines around the world after the infamous billion-dollar elevator brawl between Solange and Jay Z after the Met Gala. Before this year's Gala, Bey faced another elevator fiasco, but this time it was over her hair.

According to Bey's trusted hairstylist, Neal Farinah, her famous high ponytail she sported that night was a last-minute decision made in the elevator of her New York City apartment. "For the Met Ball we did that high ponytail but that wasn't supposed to be the style," Farinah told Us Weekly. "We did that in the elevator as she was on the way out."

Initially, Beyonce had an "Asian-inspired chignon" look to go along with the Gala's “China: Through the Looking Glass" theme, but the superstar felt it might be "costumey." So Bey wanted her hair done differently but there was little time for a change. Plus, if there was a hair mishap in the elevator, there would no time to fix it. Farinah recounts, "Then we were in the elevator on the way down, and she looks at me and says, 'Neal, I want to change my hair, will you change my hair?' And I said, 'Honey, there could be cameras in the elevator.'"

Beyonce chose a high ponytail and after years of working for the Queen, Farinah knew when to follow her lead. "Just like everything else we do we come up with a concept and then we present it to Beyonce," he says. "She is a powerhouse and she knows what she wants. I have to pay her a compliment. Beyonce takes us all out of our comfort zone, and she pushes us to be the most artistic we can be with her."

We're just glad she came out of this elevator unscathed.
