Over the past several days, there has been a lot of interesting songs to check out. The first week of June has been coming along quite well and new music keeps springing up at a rapid pace. Artists like Pusha T (with Jay Z), Rihanna, De La Soul and others made major waves with their just-released singles.

Last week, our playlist featured a varied cast of characters with Dave East, Yasiin Bey, and the recently liberated Gucci Mane all coming through with some worthwhile tunes. This week, a few songs managed to pique our interest.

The latest edition of Songs of the Week boasts three new tracks from Bompton rhymer YG, Chicago rapper Vic Mensa and the always interesting Kanye West.

    YG

    "Still Brazy"

YG has been heating up as of late, tossing his growing fanbase new audio treats to set the tone in anticipation of his forthcoming album, Still Brazy. This time around, he liberates the album's title track, a bass-heavy track that is sure to get plenty of burn on the boulevards, avenues and back-blocks of his Compton stomping grounds. Produced by London on da Track, Terrace Martin and Yung Berg, "Still Brazy" is vintage West Coast gangsta rap with a modern twist that would make any of his forefathers proud and was one of our top picks for our Songs of the Week playlist.

    "16 Shots"

    Vic Mensa

While Chance the Rapper has been getting a fair share of publicity, fellow Chicago rapper Vic Mensa has been on the low as of late, prepping for his debut album, Traffic. But it seems like Young Mensa has taken notice of his fans clamoring for a fresh batch of music and has decided to appease them with a new mixtape, titled There's a Lot Going On. Prior to the release of that project, he blessed listeners with a leak, delivering his amped-up, politically charged banger, "16 Shots." The song features Vic taking his aim at trigger happy cops and bucking at the establishment. Inspired by the murder of Laquan McDonald, this offering was one of the more heartfelt tunes to hit the 'net, but sacrifices little in terms of nod factor.

    "Champions (Round For Round)"

Kanye West Featuring Travis Scott, Quavo, Big Sean, Yo Gotti, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, Desiigner

Kanye West has been the hardest working man in hip-hop thus far this year, unrolling his seventh solo studio album, The Life Of Pablo, and wreaking havoc on the music industry. In classic Kanye fashion, Mr. West unexpectedly premiered a new track while on Big Boy In The Morning, featuring a bevy of some of the most buzzworthy talent from the south to catch wreck alongside him. "Round & Round (Champions)" is a mid-tempo heater featuring Travis Scott, Gucci Mane, Desiigner, 2 Chainz, Yo Gotti, Quavo and Big Sean getting busy over the bombastic production. The track serves as a triumphant display of musical wizardry on the part of the Louis Vuitton Don. With talk of his long awaited Cruel Winter project being on the way, this is surely just a teaser of exciting music coming our way from Yeezy.
